I can be affected in the morning by food I eat the night before. I think my digestive system is super speedy sometimes!!

I think it can take anything from a few hours to a couple of days to get symptoms from the food we eat. Some people recommend keeping a food diary to try and identify patterns as it can be difficult to work out exactly what it is bothering you.

If I eat something I shouldn't, 9 times out of 10 it doesn't cause an attack until the next day.

All of the answers are right on. I ate a few bites of port roast last Thursday night and my stomach attacked me all day Friday. I won't make that mistake again. If I eat pizza the attack comes within a few hours unless I have eaten lots of soluble fiber before or with the pizza--then it will be the next day.

Yes, lots of times what I eat a day before effects me next day. That's why it is so hard to figure out what gives you an attack. Write down things you eat. That might help you figure out what caused it. Many times I thought something gave me an attack and I stopped eating it but later I tried it and it was fine. So, combination of things could be a problem. Never test things once, try at least 2 times. Good luck.

I echo what has gone before - in fact it is *always* the next morning that things affect me. I suppose this predictability is convenient in a way, but I agree it makes it difficult to know what exactly caused the problems - I'm thinking, did I overdo it with IF vegetables at lunch, was that sauce at supper too high in fat, did I overeat, or was it just stress? sigh!
