Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I am quitting smoking after 30 years with the help of a medication called Chantix. It's working...I have only smoked 3 times in the past 2 weeks but, I am in a constant state of cramping and nausea.
I am usually IBS-C but, am going between C & D currently.
Any suggestions for comfort?

By chance did you replace your smoking habit with sweets of any kind? If yes, what sweets?

I'm IBS-D so I don't know if I can help you much. When I quit smoking (after almost as many years as you), my system went wacko. I became more of an IBS-A than a D. It had nothing to do with my diet, as I didn't change anything or add anything. I had horrible gas for a number of days and saw a difference in my BMs. I can't remember everything that happened with my IBS as this was a year ago, but I remember that I realized what an effect smoking was having on my IBS. And, by the way, GREAT JOB!

replace smoking with peppermint tea. that helped me a lot and youll feel much better. tea is very soothing when you are stressed ( much better then a smoke, i quite and replaced it with tea after 2 packs a day for 5 years, i havent taken a single drag since the day i stopped and that was a year ago)

Thank you for your response! I didn't realize the gas I am experiencing was related to quitting. I'm glad it is in a way...that means it will go away soon.

No sweets. I'm trying not to gain any more weight. I did replaced the ciggarette with a straw for a while. That way I still had the experience of inhaling and exhaling. Might sound a little weird but it helped.
