i broke up with my girlfriend a few days ago and havent made any dietary changes and noticed that my BMs are thinner then they previously were. i have been sad about my breakup and also been experiencing some anxiety because of my work situation. thanks

Sorry to hear about your breakup and work anxiety. Definitely not good for your IBS! Stress can trigger your IBS symptoms and those spasms can make your stools skinnier. This happens to me. I think there were several discussions about this a year ago. You might want to try a search on "skinny stools."

Yes, absolutely!!! Stress is one of my biggest triggers, and this is classically exactly what happens when I'm stressed or anxious.
