Read on a diverticulosis forum about people take Mirilax laxative for this condition as well as IBS.
Apparently not available in Canada. Any Canadians know of a similar item? Would like to try it and get off lactulose

Since there was no answer re an alternative to Mirilax in Canada May I ask Canadians what laxative do you take if required as well as fiber?

Are you sure this isn't available in Canada? Maybe under the name Polyethylene Glycol?

I don't need laxatives, per se, but I do just take Heather's Acacia. I buy several packages at a time to reduce shipping costs.
You can also try Benefiber. This is what I took in the beginning. But, to be honest, it is so expensive that Heather's Acacia still works out to be a much better deal!
-------------------- IBS-A since age 12, and fructose sensitive; with the exception of my pregnancy, have been following Heather's diet since Nov. 19, 2007.
Taking 12g of Acacia per day. Relatively stable since March 2008!
