Working out what you can and can't eat

After 15 years of being suspicious of just about every food there is I am now on a diet limited to rice krispies, soy milk, dairy free chocolate, mash potato, chicken and peas.

Does anyone have any tips on how to work out which food is causing them the problem? I understand that food can take 5-48 hours to cause symptoms so unless i don't eat for 48 hours how will i know which food is the cause?

I'm confused but i know i can't live on the diet i've just mentioned forever
