OMG! I just had to post on this one.... This is the one thing that I just can't quit. And, sometimes I feel like a loser not being able to kick the coffee thing, but I've grown used to that one cup in the morning for the past 20 years. How do you just quit? My body wants it and I'm a @#$@ without it in the morning trying to get 3 kids off to school and go to work. I have to say, I really love Folgers Sensibly Smooth , easy on your stomach. I don't have much trouble with one cup of it in the morning. I cannot drink any other brand, though. Starbucks and Dunkin donuts coffee both made me cramped up and miserable with D! I have acid reflux too and this brand doesn't seem to make that any worse. The way I figure it is if I wake up and my lousy plain oatmeal is giving me heartburn, then, to heck with it, i'm having a cup of coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think coffee is the absolute best thing on earth. I don't touch it anymore because it KILLS me with the bloating and affects me energetically in a way I can't really fully explain. It instantly disrupts the balance I work so hard to keep in my body and spirit. So I don't touch it. But...I dream of coffee. I love it so much. I love the ritual, the experience, the lifestyle, the idea of myself as a coffee drinker. I love it all. And I miss it all. Ultimately feeling good is more important to me. But my heavens, for the LOVE of coffee...

I have to agree with you Jordy! I know that coffee helped me with bms...it was the only thing that made me go regularly. I have given it up for a few months now, but I have started to treat myself to a cup or two on the weekends...I mix the folgers smooth stomach with teechino...tastes pretty good and doesn't bother my stomach. I will stick to fennel tea during the week, though.

Does Soyfee actually taste like coffee? Or does it have its own flavour?

I really think that it tastes like coffee and I am a pretty tough critic. I really dislike tea and when I tried some of the other coffee replacements, they still reminded me of tea. I order the french vanilla version of the soyfee and I put low fat coffeemate creamer in it. I never was one to use sugar. You have to adjust the strength of how you like it...I tend to like my coffee strong but you can make the soyfee weaker if you'd like. I really think it's worth a try. I SWEAR..I am soooo with all of you on your dreams of coffee. How did I give it up? I was desperate I guess b/c of the d and the anxiety that went with it. I do cheat with other things here and there but this is one that I NEVER do. I am astonished myself b/c I don't have very good willpower. If it weren't for the soyfee, I know I would cheat with coffee sometimes. The caffeine withdrawal is tough for about a week or so and every so often I really miss it (for tiredness or a headache or for getting my two kids out the door too!), but I suppose our bodies are better overall without the caffeine anyway. Good luck. I can totally relate and feel your pain!

I found out that those yummy chai lattes from starbucks contain the same amount of caffeine as coffee. You can check their website for caffeine content. I was so disappointed!! I used to get a soy chai latte almost every morning on my way to work... I miss it!!

I think I've pretty much gotten over my caffeine addiction – I was gradually weaning myself off coffee anyway over the last couple of years just because I knew it was a trigger, but I drank diet coke literally every day. Diet coke never seemed to give me any problems whatsoever, and I might try drinking caffeine-free diet coke someday when and if I become stable, but for now I sure would love to enjoy that COFFEE flavour again! Caffeine or no caffeine.
