Has anyone use or had good results with Digestive Advantage for IBS..I've seen it advertised and sounds pretty good? Any negative results as well? Thanks!

I'm just wondering if you've tried this out yet...I just ordered a sample of it.

No. I'm a little hesitant to try it. Would like to hear what results you get though. Good luck.

I did try IBS DA and must admit it caused me more problems than I had. I am IBS-C. I found I would wake every morning with a swollen tummy and the more I ate the worse it got, I had to by pants 2 sizes bigger just to accomodate the swelling. When I found Heathers site I followed her diet but laid off the DA. I found my tummy had reverted back to normal and flat all the time. I reintorduced DA just to see what difference it made and with just one dose the swelling came straight back. However, I will say, for IBS-C it helped tremedously with making my BM regular, for that it was fantastic. Give it a try and see how it affects you, just don't do anything else different and if you find you are getting better then you know it's the DA, alternatively, if you get worse or develop new symptoms you know it's the DA causing it..This is all trail and error:-) Good luck!

It contains Lactobacillus cultures (e.g. acidophillus) or what they call GanedenBC30. There is still little evidence to show that Lactoabacillus helps IBS. And those small trials that have shown some effect use specific species of Lactobacillus some of which appear to help a bit with D while others don't seem to have any effect at all.

I started taking DA for IBS a couple months ago. I started it the same day I started the acacia fiber though so I am not sure which helped. But I took it for a couple of months and it helped. But i felt that it tended to wane off at the end. It wasn't helping as much as it had been originally. I finally stopped it after taking it for 2 months. I haven't really noticed life without it so I am assuming it must not have been all that great for me.
