Just finished with a bout of constipation, in my case probably IBS-C plus diverticulosis.

I drink Heather's fennel tea as well as chamoile tea and have tried GAS-X which helps. I am wondering since it now seems to come in three three ways, the old chewable tablet, a gel capsule and now a thin stip that you dissolve in your mount.

What do you find the most effective?

Thanks, I find the strips, which look like plastic strips strange to use. Yes they dissolve but strength is less.

However the capsules which you take with water are a pretty high dosage and only allowed three a day.

I don't use the brand name Gas-x I use generic Simethicone "Gas Relief" caps. They are orange gel caps and waaaay cheaper. I buy the Walmart brand Equate for $3 a box. I have taken waaay more than 3 in a day with no problems and they work for me. I can't compare as I have never tried to strips or chewables, I think both if those contain artificial sweeteners which would just make my gas and cramping worse.

Are you sure it is okay to take more than 3 Beth? I always worry about the side effects. How many more have you taken?

I found out yesterday that Gas-Ex does come in different strengths. I made error and bought the extra strength chewable which states only three a day but the regular strength is up to six a day. So what I will do is divide in half for now.

I have appointment with doctor tomorow sosee what he says.

I think the strips are really just a gimmick. Stick with the gel capsules.

It used to work well for me, now..not so much.

Also, I get the Wal-Mart brand. So, so much cheaper.
