I just came across Kettles Lightly Salted Bakes. The are made from "Select Russet potatoes, expeller pressed high monounsaturated safflower and/or sunflower oil, salt." They are 10% fat by weight and contain 2 grams of dietary fiber per serving.

I find them quite tasty. BUT they can be addicting

Careful of the flavoured Bakes - they contain dairy and other strange additives.

Debs, the chips we're talking about are the regular, store-bought baked Lays. I've never tried baking my own chips at home but I don't think they would come out good (like you said, they'd probably be soggy).

Zara, My son's future mother-in-law told me about her delicious home baked chips and I think she said she slices potato real thin sprays pam oil on 'em with some salt and bakes them. I will be speaking to her any day now and Ill ask her for exact instructions. I'm not sure that potatoes is the best thing for me , Im suspecting they give me gas, but I do want to try these chips. I'll keep you posted. I absolutely love potatoes.

Yes, please keep us posted as I would like to make them. Last night I put thin sweet potatoes on my george forman grill. I am going to have them for lunch with my turkey burger. I will let you know how they turned out.

Thank you, I will look forward to that recipe! If we could have homemade potato chips that would be awesome!

Debs, are the grilled sweet potato chips crispy? That's a really good idea, I'll have to try that!

I have to say they were really yummy!! But I had to microwave them for 2 minutes here at work first. They werent cooked enough. So I think what I will do next time is mic them first and throw them on the GF grill. They were still crispy and alittle grilled on the outside. Or just cut them smaller or thinner so they cook better on the GF grill.
