I have a question for all you wonderful women out there. Has IBS messed with your period? I'm trying to figure out exactly what I have and that's been a pretty frightening symptom lately. Just wondering if I'm in any way normal...

Ibs has messed with my period since day one! I hate to see it come every month not knowing whats going to happen. Its can be pretty horrible till its over. Hang in there.

Because of what I've read from other's experiences on here, my anxiety makes me believe that I too I'm having or will be having a horrible period. So right about that week before to when I actually get it, I'm in freaking out mode.

When I got off the pill back in September of '98, my period stayed and still to this day on schedule. Like I know when I'm gonna get it and around what time it's due. Mine "lasts" 7 days but not really because:
1st day: tampon
2nd day: tampon
3rd day: tampon
4th day: tampon first half of day; liners only for last half of day
5th, 6th, and 7th day: I wear liners just for coverage purposes.

My period can be AWFUL with the IBS. I am normally C but when I get my period I get D for a few days before and get awful gas during and after. Then for days after I am way too much C again. I took BC pills straight for a couple of months and that was fabulous....no periods! but then I had to go off of them for a different reason and now am back to the lovely periods again, I hate it!
