I love basil and maybe that's the culprit as the cheesless pizza relies a lot on seasonings such as basil. hmmmm....

BTW I love both Amy's soy and veggie pies. They are expensive though.

Why can't they ever use rice cheese for those who cannot tolerate soy! Every time they sub for dairy, it's soy based.

Okay, rant over.

Hi,

I know what you mean about craving pizza and not being able to have it since I have huge problems with tomato based pasta/pizza sauces also! I have had some success with making a thick indian lentil dal and using that as a sauce -if lentils don't bother you. Just make it w/out the dairy curries and butter usually called for - curry powders and cumin work great. And I recently found a recipe for a butternut squash pasta sauce I am going to try. I'm hoping its yummy, since it would let me have something other than plain pasta and have SF.

I've had this happen, too. Every time I get a cheese-less or soy cheese pizza, I get some sort of IBS symptoms. I attribute it to either fat content, or some of the other ingredients (like preservatives.) Bummer

Be careful because some of the pizza sauces contain dairy in them as well. I checked with a local pizza shop and they told me they put cheese and some milk in their sauce. So you might ask about that. Oh and someone asked about a rice cheese pizza..I am pretty sure Amy's makes a pizza with rice cheese. Check it out.
