My doctor prescribed a medication called WelChol which is a cholesterol lowering drug. The side effect is constipation. She told me that doctors are finding success when prescribed to their IBS-D patients. She gave me samples and told me that I should start slow, 1 pill per day for a few days, to determine my personal dosage. This is my 4th day of taking 1 pill and I feel great. NO D!!! I am continuing to eat as prescribed by Heather and so far it is working. Has anyone else tried Wel Chol? What is/was your experience?

I took it for a while and it worked really well for D (used it for 14 days in Peru while hiking the Inca trail and the Amazon- imagine how glad I was it worked so well!); however, I still felt the pain, gas, bloating. I stopped taking it because of cost and because it did not relieve my other symptoms. I have only recently found Heather's book/diet so I am trying this for a while to see if I can't get more complete relief. Great to hear it has worked for you!
