Hi. I take vitamin C mixed in with baking soda; both powders. I take about 2.5 grams twice a day. Is this causing IBS symptoms? Thanks. Tom. P.S. I usually let all the bubbles work there way out and hopefully am left with a non-acidic non-IBS irritating vitamin. Any Advice appreciated!

I don't know about the baking soda, but I take Ester C daily and experience no problems with it. Why do you take baking soda?

I mix the powder of ascorbic acid and baking soda to kill the acid. It makes co2 and water. I might try some ester C. How does that not irriate the bowels but regular Vitamin C does? Thanks.

Isn't Ester C a buffered form of Vit C? And ascorbic acid is acidic and can irritate the gut lining...? You might want to check those details though... x

Some Ester C info
Maybe Syl or someone else can add further information on Ester C. All I really know is that 500mg of Ester C daily does not bother me.
