I have been slowly trying to incorporate calcium into my diet and because I have IBS-D, I started taking the Citracal petites with Vitamin D, but noticed the magnesium ingredients in it and thought I had read that causes diarrhea, any comments? Also, just one fish oil capsule a day, are they supposed to be IBS-D safe. I want the benefit of the omega fatty acids because right now I'm still sick and cannot eat anything yet. Thanks

There is no one on this board who takes magnesium in there calcium or fish oil? That is very hard to believe.

I have been taking magnesium with my calcium supplement. It's Genestra liquid cal/mag (I'm taking the multi mineral but there's also a cal/mag alone). I find so far it's ok, but I'm not up to the same dose that I was on when I took only calcium. I'll let you know how I do.

I did find help with taking just calcium carbonate for my IBS-D. I'm now taking a multi-mineral to try to improve my immune system as well as my IBS.

Fish oil I would be scared to take as an IBS-D. It's probably safer to get more omega 3's through food. Try cooking some fish and eating it often in small portions. If you really want to try the oil, maybe find an oil which you can control the portion of (instead of a capsule).

I take calcium with vit. D. I have heard that magnesium can work as a laxative. I tried fish oil a couple of months ago. I was OK, but had fishy burps all day, so I stopped them.
