I've been feeling really bad for the past couple of days and I think it for because of Smarties candy rolls that I have been eating for the previous couple nights. Has anyone had the same experience? It's definitely the candy because it's happened to me before (but then I wasn't sure, now I am). I admit I did eat rather large quantities - like 15 per night but I thought they were safe as they are mostly sugar (is dextrose sugar)?
These are the ingredients:
Dextrose, Citric Acid, Calcium Sterate, Artificial Flavors and Colors (FDC Red 40 Lake, Blue 1 Lake, Blue 2 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake)

is any of these a "troubled" ingredient? I'm OK with certain other candies (such as York peppermint patties) which are mostly sugar as well.

Thanks for your reply, I was almost starting to think that I was the only one reacting to sugary candy!
I would imagine Smarties and Starburst having at least some similar ingredients since they're both kinda sour/sweet.

On days like these I feel really upset. We already have to limit our diet and when we find something that looks safe often it turns out it's not

I think that all of those dyes could be causing that. I try staying away from anything that has lots of artificial flavorings.

emmasmom - exactly, I'm always so happy to have found something new so usually I buy a huge bag and then it ends up making me sick. I already wasted so much money on food that I just ended up tossing!

Tatyana - that's a good idea, I think you might be right. Sugar only comes in brown and white if processed and those candies are like a rainbow
