My doctor ran tests for SIBO, fructose and lactose malbabsorption. They all came back negative. So why do I feel sick when I eat a lot of dried fruits? I don't think that raisins are that high in IF, are they? When I eat them at night I just feel terrible the next day so I thought maybe I was fructose intolerant. Apparently I'm not. So why do I feel sick?

I'm still new at this but maybe their skins, like any other dried fruit, are high in IF, even though their insides are soluble. I hope I got that right. Maybe someone out there can correct me if I'm not.

Thanks, although I don't think it's the IF in this case. It just feel different.

Mostly raisins. Although I've gotten sick after papaya and mango. Prunes are automatically a no-no.

Yes dried fruits are high in IF! They should never be eaten alone. Some people can handle them in baked goods or oatmeal, but most never eat them without SF and some can't eat them at all. They are on the IF list.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
