I just searched the posts and didn't quite find what I was looking for. I have been taking Benefiber for about 3 years and have had no problems. Lately though, I am finding that I am A LOT more gassy and I was wondering if it could be attributed to the wheat dextrin in Benefiber. I don't think it is supposed to cause gas, but I thought I would ask to see if anyone else was experiencing this?
Where do you live? In the US they changed Benefiber to wheat dextrin and in Canada they changed it from guar gum to inulin. Inulin is known to cause gas. Wheat dextrin has been shown to produce less gas than many SFS.

I am in the US. I wonder if somehow I got a bottle with the inulin?? I just know that I have been having issues lately that I haven't had in a long long time.
I don't think you would find Benefiber with inulin in the US. It appears to be unique to its production in Canada.
Benefiber with wheat dextrin has been out in the US for about a year. Have you been having your problems for a year? What other dietary changes have you made?

well i've done the norm: staying away from dairy, red meats, high fats. when i think about it it's really just been in the last few months that i've noticed it. maybe it's just a phase i'm going through.
