What kind of over the counter pain relief does a IBS d prone person use? Ya know for fevers and so on?

I have found that the only type of pain relaver that doesn't hurt my tummy is acetaminophen (Tylenol). Everything else kills my tummy. Hope this helps

NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) are generally a bad idea with IBS as they're quite hard on your tummy. Ibuprofen is the common one of these. I take paracetamol for fevers or co-codamol (paracetamol and codeine) if I'm really bad. Take whatever you use with or after food to cushion your stomach.

I agree with Chris. Tylenol (acetomiophin). Depends on medication you are on. With my dipentum I'm not allowed advil because there is the same chemicals(if thats what they are called).So I will have doubled the dose. I always ask the pharmasict what I can and can not take. I don't take Dristan either for colds but can take Sudafed. Most times though I just take acetomiophin.
