i was just looking through the recipe index and came across a Kahlua recipe. It got my attention since I used to make homemade Kahlua-an easy, ready to 'use' recipe that I still make for some of my friends--anyway, I haven't had any in a long time since I read in Heather's information that alcohol was a trigger. Can someone help me out with this question?? I would love to try some Kahlua again!! Thanks in advance for any information.!

I think the general idea is that you shouldn't drink alcohol, but that many people with IBS tolerate small amounts of it used as flavor in cooking and baking. Hope that helps.

If cooked the alcohol goes away so you only have the taste of it, so that is why in cooking it gives no problems.

Thanks for the info Ulrika and Natalia82! The recipe was for a baked good product so that makes sense. And I will have to experiment in a small amount if I try alcohol otherwise. thanks again for responding!
