Not for me, seems to give me D. Makes for a good laxative though

I eat 2 red licorice twists everyday. However, I was able to find a red licorice that is made with glucose syrup and not HFCS. Also, there is very little oil in the licorice I buy. It is a no-name brand available in Canada at Extra Foods or the Superstore.

I love it, I eat twizlers, mine doesn't have HFCS, but I find it tends to bind me up....changes my D to C
