Well I'm on day 2 of taking the Align...I took it on an empty stomach and got nauseated..so I will make sure I take it with some food next time....I'm C (only C) and am hoping this will stop the need for taking the fiber all the time...the fiber works but I hate the constant bloated feeling...and gas...

I thought align contained a milk ingredient, which is why I never tried it; what is other's people's thoughts on it containing milk and general helpfulness.

The amount of a milk ingredient in a capsule of Align that weighs very little will be quiet small. I suspect it contains a fraction of a gram.

So it's safe even for somebody with dairy as a major trigger?

I don't know if it safe. It could be that you cannot tolerate the bacteria in the probiotic. However, I suspect that if you took Align with a meal the little bit of milk ingredient in the capsule would not likely have much, if any, affect.

Ok, let's see this is day 4? I think...ok, I make sure I eat with or before taking it...what I noticed (sorry to be so graphic)an almost firming up of bowel movements so I could see where this might be helpful for IBS-D. I am still taking fiber (and even increased it a little I think out of fear that I was going to get C again!)...didn't want to stop cold turkey since I'm finally having movements each day...so I think I will continue just like I have until I begin week 2, then will gradually decrease the fiber to see what happens...like I said, the fiber works but I really get tired of the bloating and gassiness...so I am hoping the Align will help me either decrease or stop the need for the fiber..I know this is probably wishful thinking but it's worth a shot!

Remember that it takes at least 90 days to really see the effects of a probiotic. Don't give up on them too soon. Many people find that probiotics helps with the bloating and gas. Probitoics are different so if one doesn't work well you can always try another one.

I have not tried align, fearing the milk but did try Acidophillus by Jarrodphillus and VSL, with both doing ok, nothing special.

I've not experienced any major change at this point but I've not even taken it a week yet...I'm still hopeful!

You could try a different brand. A few people have found relief with Bio-K Plus, but it is more expensive.
