I need to add more IF back into my diet, but I have a few questions.

Is there a type of Lettus that is safer than others?
Is corn safe and if so what is the best way to cook it?
Are there any veggies that can be eaten raw or should they all be cooked?
I have trouble with fruit as I am sensative to fructose, what is the best fruit and best way to eat it? I have only been able to have a little bananna in whole made banana bread.

THANK U!
Abby

You might find this thread on fructose and fruits informative.

My staple fruits are semi ripe bananas and deseeded kiwi fruit.

Lettuce and corn tend to be tough Insoluble Fibers for a lot of people. I can eat both now but it took me a long time to get to that point. I wouldn't start with them when trying to add in IF.

You're probably better off eating your IF vegetables cooked at least to begin with. You can eat them as a side dish or in soups, stews, and casseroles. Once you're doing well with that you can cautiously try some raw veggies and see how you do.

Thank you. I bough baby spinach. is that something that I can eat as is or do I need to cook that somehow as well? Do you have any suggestions as to which veggies are safest for me to start off with?

Potatoes (careful adding fat), squash, carrots are pretty much the only ones I can handle right now and don't bother me at all. Good luck! Let me know if you find any others, I have not got brave enough to try much else yet.

Thank you for clearing that up, I know just by trial and error these are the only ones I can tolerate right now, I guess I need to go back and double check, I have all her info printed out but I haven't read it in a month or so.

Hmm I can eat almost anything in small amounts. Like i eat rice and mushrooms (both SF) with spinach. Carrots together with union and a tomato for pasta. Stuff like that i started with. Sometimes i tried a vegetable i liked to find out that i couldnt eat it yet, or not that much. But soon i could eat more and more. I know this is not for everyone, so i would suggest to take the vegetables you like the most and try them in small amounts with lots of SF first. See how you do.

Good luck
