is this normal?
i am happy that i have not had D, however, i am starting to get a soreness in my sides because i have not gone in 3 days now.
can someone help me out?
thanks

For some people 1/2 teaspoon 2 times a day is too much to start off with. Many start at 1/4 teaspoon.

Yes those are the instructions but for some people that's too high to start with, so they start it at 1/4 teaspoon.

Remember, use 1/4 cooking tsp - not a regular tsp.

I have been on Acacia for almost two years and it works wonders for me. I take 3 cooking tablespoons 3 x per day.

Hang in there, give your body time to adjust and you will be just fine.

Good Luck

I have been on Acadia for a week and a half and have had two flare ups and I am not going as often. I DID start at only 1/4 teaspoon 2x a day and increased it by 1/4 after a week. I was doing better but the past week I have been worse again. My doctor is running all kinds of tests because she is afraid something else may be wrong due to the pain. It has been putting me flat on my back in tears unable to move for close to one hour. I don't want to keep up with unneccesary tests. Has anyone else done the same thing????

Normally your body takes a few days 3-6 to adjust to a new level (or quantity) of fibre.

Are you A, C, or D? Are you getting enough IF in your diet too, and drinking plenty of water?
There might be a chance you could be allergic to the acacia. Perhaps give it another few days or a week and see how you feel.

Not sure. You could have a problem with the acacia. You did go up gradually so that doesn't seem to be the culprit. Have your symptoms decreased AT ALL since you started it? I know for me I still had IBS symptoms, but the intensity was not nearly as bad. See what your doc says. Feel better.

My fiber intake is where it should be and I drink enough to be a fish so I know I am doing the right thing there. I have never had issues with being allergic to anything so I didn't even consider that. I am C (severe, I am taking 17m of Miralax twice a day, without it nothing happens).

The past week has been the worst I have had (as far as pain goes) in a couple months. I am very stictly sticking to the diet and doing everything I should be.

its been almost two weeks since on Acacia.
overall i feel better. i have had 2 attacks which were pretty bad. i definatley have alot less pain, bloating and gas. the good days are really good...but the bad days are still there. i guess that i will increase by 1/4 every week untill i have even less symptoms.
