Frustrated and in pain

I've been eating SF foods only to stabilize myself. I thought that I should be feeling much better but the truth is, I'm actually feeling worse.
Today I only ate peeled apples, bananas, and quinoa with cooked mashed carrots. I felt fine the whole day and then got really bloated right after I ate dinner. But I had EXACTLY the same quinoa with carrots for lunch and dinner as well. How come I was fine after lunch but not after dinner?
I'm just getting really frustrated and fear that there is no help for me

Especially where you're a C'er, you should definitely not be continuing to eat only SF foods, if it's been more than a few days. You don't actually "stabilize" from eating just SF foods... "stabilizing" is a long-term process that happens as you learn to eat essentially like a normal person again (meaning, a good variety of foods, minus the blatant triggers such as dairy and red meat).

You should begin to incorporate insoluble fiber foods back into your diet. I found it was best to try one "new" food at a time. Expect that it won't go completely smoothly - you might find that your symptoms really aren't any better for a while. Trust that your body will catch up eventually, because it will.

Stabilizing takes a long time, a lot of patience, and a good bit of tinkering around to figure out the right balance of SF/IF - because everyone's different on that one. But it's worth it!

The best thing to do to break the cycle is to really restrict your diet for a few days (and only a few days - this is a short-term diet only) to nothing but soluble fiber foods and soluble fiber supplements.....After a few days, you should be feeling much better, and your gut will have stabilized.

Thanks, Casey. Above is what I copied from Heather's website. That's why a thought that for the first few days I should only eat SF foods and then I'll feel much better. I thought that SF will help me stabilize (pain and bloating) and after I add IF, things will "get moving".
I know that I need to wait longer to see results (patience is not one of my virtues ); however, I do get really discouraged if I have to quit my favorite foods yet without seeing results

With C, sometimes you need to start cranking up the insoluble fiber foods immediately. Generally, even if I'm having D, I start eating fruits and vegetables as soon as I feel up to it since I'm predominantly C.

If you eat cooked/chopped/pureed vegetables and fruit along with your soluble fiber, I think you'll start feeling better. Also, having C means that you really need to make sure that you're drinking water or herbal tea all the time and exercising daily. And all IBS people need to manage their stress!

Thanks AC, I think I'll try to eat my apple unpeeled today and see how that goes. I also added some tomatoes to my sandwich today.
I actually drink a lot and try to squeeze in some exercise on most days

I just scanned your post, and just my two cents, but make sure you are okay with bananas. They are a food that seem to work for some people, but cause trouble for others. I CANNOT do bananas, even though I LOVE them. It took me awhile to figure this out though b/c sometimes they would affect me immediately, other days it would be later, but I haven't had that feeling since I stopped eating them about 2 years ago. Apples don't always sit well with me either, but I can eat loads of 'natural' applesauce. What gives?

It IS frustrating, but keep trying. Once I finally got stable (which took a good while to accomplish), I still use this board. If something different pops up with me or my symptoms, I research it on this board. Heather has been a life-saver for me.
