Is cleansing the colon safe for IBSers? If so, what ones are safe or can you direct me to one.....also if not, is there a different way to cleanse it that is more safe?

I used Gaia Herbs kit Supreme Cleanse last year and it helped me. But the fiber was psyllium mostly. Other herbs/ tinctures in the kit helped to move things along and stimulate digestion--a 2 week program. I haven't used it since because it irritates my anus (which gives me fits due to fissure and hemmorhoids)--gives me D (I'm an C)--in short, causes more problems than it helps.
Other cleanse programs can be even more harsh--they use senna, cascara sagrada, etc--some have even heavier herbs than that--I don't think these are suitable for either D or C. They intend to clean you out in a few days; claim to rid your intestines of "parasites" (worms)--all the scare tactic stuff.
I would say "go slow" when considering colon cleansers--probably more suitable for "normal" people, not IBS people.

Cleanses only cause more problems for people with IBS - both C and D. Stay away from them.
