Substitution for Buttermilk

I have a recipe that requires buttermilk. Is this the same as soured milk? Would I put 1 tablespoon of vinegar for every cup of soy/rice milk?

Soured milk and buttermilk aren't *exactly* the same, but they're usually interchangeable in baking recipes. The substitution you mentioned will work.
