On Thursday morning I had a Barium Enema. I did all of the preperation(the liquid diet for 24hours, the bowel cleanse, drinking huge amounts of water)the test went very well, and the dr. said that the xrays are really great.
However since the test I am having some poop issues. I am Ibs-d all the way but since the exam I have been having very large, hard to pass bowel movements. This is throwing me off since I am used to the d.
I am wondering what I can do to make them smaller? or help things move along more smoothly. Every thing I have read says to eat fruit, fibre and lots of water. But most fruit (except bananas and mangoes) are Ibs-d triggers for me, I don't want to swing my system into an attack either...

I am drinking lots of water and sticking with the ibs-d diet that has been working for me...but right now I don't have d...so I need to adjust what I am doing but don't know how to

Any tips would be greatly appreciated...i never thought I would be this worried over NOT having d...ahhh the life of having ibs..

thanks

shannon

when I had a Barium done they told me to have a couple tbsp. of Milk of Magnesium. Just to clean out the barium. Maybe try calling the place you had it done or your Dr. office and ask about it. I too am D. and the M.O.M. helped but didn't throw me into a D. attack! Hope your feeling better today. Sue
