i have read about a lot of people getting good results with caltrate plus. i usually take about 6 fibercon pills a day and i feel that it helps me for the most part. i wanted to try caltrate but its supposed to add bulk but isnt this what the fiber supplement does?
should i only take one or the other??
thanks! james

No. Your calcium supplement is different than your fiber supplement. Although it may affect your bowels in some way (carbonate better for d, citrate and magnesium better for C), it should not be a replacement for your fiber supplement. (At least in my opinion )

The Caltrate Plus is different that a SFS (i.e. Fibercon). Continue to take the SFS, while adding the calcium supplement.
I've had great success with Caltrate Plus. I have IBS-D and this supplement has not given me any negative effects. I find it very easy to swallow & love how the pills can be split in half easily. It's also very affordable, especially if one purchases it in large quantities, i.e. at Costco. or Sam's Club.
Once again, CONTINUE to take your SFS and the calcium supplement. Good luck.
Kate, IBS-D.
