Hey everyone,

Just a quick q. I'm totally intolerant of apples in their solid form and even applesauce. That said, it is a great way of reducing the fat in cakes, etc, so I'm wondering: Are there people like me who can't eat apples at all on their own who have no problem with applesauce in cake? This would make life easier. Thanks!

Emily

I am not apple intollerant, but if you're looking for something to replace applesauce in cakes, have you tried baby food (say... pears, or prunes, or something like that). It usually works well.

I cannot eat apples because of my fructose sensitivity. Instead of apples I frequently use peeled zucchini.

Thanks for the suggestions! I never thought of zucchini, but I bet that would work well, and I'll try the babyfood pears...I'm a bit skeptical of prunes generally...
