I THOUGHT THAT AVACADOS WERE GOOD FOR YOU- AND BLAND IN TERMS OF EATING FOR IBS PEOPLE- NOW - TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY IN YEARS ( I EAT ABOUT 3 TABLESPOONS A DAY)- THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY- AND TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY THAT I HAD NO GAS WHATSOEVER ALL DAY AND NIGHT????

And for a lot of others that eat them, too. I'm not sure what it is in them them makes us gassy, but there is definitely a link between the two.

Avocados are high in natural fats... it's possible that it doesn't agree with you because of that.

Personally, I've never had any problems with avocados - I can sit down and nosh a whole avocado in one sitting. But like we say to pretty much everything around here: everyone's different. It's entirely possible that even a "safe food" doesn't work for you.
