Eventhough on Valentine's Day we usually think about doing special things for others. I'd like to know what special things you do to take care of yourself either daily or once in awhile?
Happy Valentine's Day

This is such a great topic.

I think the best thing I do for myself is to listen to my body. We spend a lot of time denying our needs and wants on even the most basic of levels, and then wonder why our state of mind suffers. For me, it's been immeasurably helpful in overcoming both IBS and my eating disorders, which has led to a much happier me.

I'm also a firm believer in hot baths. And a piece of good chocolate now and then. And good tea. And afternoon naps, something I've indulged in since high school.

On a more occasional basis, I treat myself to nice clothes and fun cheap accessories whenever I can afford to. Spending money on myself is a huge novelty and a real treat, and after years of dressing in whatever I could find at thrift stores that happens to fit me, having clothes that actually DO fit and flatter is SO nice.

I love this.

After so many years of taking care of everyone and everything before myself, I'm completey, and genuinely happy with indulging myself daily, weekly monthly.

I love making meals for myself, I don't care how big of a mess I make, I can take care of that later.
I love taking baths and reading magazines. Mostly hair/beauty magazines (i'm a cosmetologist)
I love tea, mosty peppermint and jasmine blossom.
I love meditating or laying down and just being still.
When I was working/had money, i would buy music, or clothing/jewelry, etc.

Fun!
I LOVE to take warm baths and read health magazines. In the northeast, the warm bath feels sooo nice especially when it is snowy! I also LOVE to cuddle with my husband. He is the best stress relief I have. Finally, there is nothing better than some yoga before bed!

I meditate every morning and then do some yoga and that keeps me in a very lovely balanced state.

I love to get out in the backyard with my dogs and play/hang out... we all love it!

Gardening, too... I like to plant lots of edibles (veggies and herbs)...which I know how to eat safely now, thanks to Heather.

Atomic Rose:
I don't post often, but "lurk" around the site all the time and you seem to know your stuff pretty well.
Your talk of teas reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask: Do things flavored with fruit juices, like some teas, cereals, popsicles, etc act as triggers?
BTW, thanks for the directing me to the adagio tea site- it looks heavenly!

Thanks,
Kelly
