HI, Has anyone used Potatoe milk made by Vance foods (you order online)and is it considered safe for IBS? Here is their website www.vancefoods.com The main ingredients are: Maltodextrin(from potatoes), potato starch, Natural flavors, crystalline fructose, Calcium carbonalte, colored with titanium dioxide, carrageenan, Dicalcium phosphate, salt and a few other things. It tastes pretty decent. I used it before a couple of years ago with my daughter when I was trying her on a gluten/casein free diet. Her abdominal pain, gas and cramping, & constipation never improved on that diet. THat was before I knew about irritable bowel syndrome. Just trying to see what will be the best alternative for dairy for her. She doesn't tolerate soymilk at all and the jury is still out on rice milk. WOndering if anyone has used the potatoe milk.

I haven't tried this before, but I'm wondering if the added calcium carbonate could be constipating? If you read informaton on the main site, about Heather's Eating for IBS Diet, there is information about different types of calcium and their effects on IBS.

I can't say anything about it's use for IBS, but my son is allergic to milk and I use it wherever dried milk is called for. It tastes good and the chocolate is good in coffee (like I said, I haven't used in since starting the IBS diet) Liam likes the vanilla more than Blue Diamond vanilla almond milk
