My roommate is a supplement & natural healing NUT. You should see the amount of pills and vials of "potions" she uses!
She knows of my struggle with stomach/digestive discomfort as we've talked quite a bit about it. She's always suggesting websites, supplements (other than the ones Heather suggests), "dr's" (which i don't automatically trust), and other natural healing methods.
I know and trust the ways that Heather has promoted healing for IBS - diet, exercise, stress reduction, yoga and alternative therapy. Those methods are reasonable and make sense.
What I want to know is what other resources are out there that are trustworthy and not coming from some "crazy" spouting nonsense that sounds good to make you buy their pills or follow their advise.
Can anyone offer suggestions? I know I'm up against the same situation here - everyone has their own opinions and some may (inadvertently) have fallen prey to those false "teachers" & put their trust in them.
But thought I'd see what I could get from all of you. I want desperately to heal myself - my WHOLE self - but i don't want to spend a fortune on bogus remedies & experts.
Help?

Hello everyone, I am brand new in here but not to stomach problems. I have determined through the internet research which this site is amazing that I have IBS. However, I have one question--can the intestines in this case cramp so much it is visible from the outside? This happens with me if I eat the wrong thing and it feels and looks like a baby is inside me.

You can't determine you have IBS from internet research alone. IBS is a diagnosis and it needs to be done by a doctor after more serious conditions are ruled out. See a doctor, because you might be in much more trouble than IBS is.
