zelnorm question

I saw a couple of posts on Zelnorm, but didn't specifically see this, so I thought I would ask. My doctor just gave me Zelnorm to try and one of the possible side effects is D (as you all know). Anyway, my question is: if I get D, can I take immodium, or is it something that has to just work itself out? Would taking immodium be counterproductive?
THanks!

I found that D disappeared after a couple of days. Generally speaking D should disappear after about a week. I don't think I would take immodium if D persisted - I would contact my doctor and ask for advice. The problem with Zelnorm is that it is only recommended to be taken for a short period of time - 12 weeks as I recall.
Here are some comments on Zelnorm by the FDA that are worth reading.
