I have used this licorice stuff that you dilute in water and drink. The relief is amazing! These are some of the things it helps with:
  • promote healthy adrenal gland function
  • support and soothe the digestive and urinary tracts
  • promote a healthy response to environmental stresses
  • support healthy lung function
  • facilitate the body's natural ability to break up respiratory secretions
  • encourage normal bowel movements
Notice the last bullet on the list... This really helps for C. This stuff is a miracle rememdy!
The stuff I use is from "Standard Process" and it's called "Licorice High Grade 1:1." (This is not a laxative!)

I've seen plenty of licorice teas at my health food store. Basically you want the licorice root, and that's what's used in the licorice teas. Also there was one type of licorice root capsule with the other herbal caps.

Is it good for D people too? Does it have any pain reducing effects? Thanks.

Doesn't excessive use of licorice have contradictory health indications like messing with your blood pressure or possibly an addiction issue? Has anyone heard anything like that? I've always seen warnings for use beyond 7 days for licorice. I can't seem to find any detailed information about the product you're speaking of. Even the website you've given doesn't give very much information about the product. What's in it? Thanks.

licorice is only a problem if it is not the deglycerinized version, DGL which is sold in most healthy food stores in chewable tablet or powder form is amazing for digestion and especially heartburn or ulcers and is safe as long as it is the right kind.

I don't think it would be a problem for D people, but I'm not 100% sure. It's not supposed to give you D, because it's a soother for the digestive tract. For something less strong, licorice tea is always good, too; it certainly tastes great!

I go to a chiropractor/acupuncturist that sells Standard Process products, but on the web site there are listings for the people that distribute them in different places. I think they have phone numbers for them.
