Hi! I'm new to this website and did a search for info. regarding Zelnorm. I wanted to see if anyone had the kind of reaction to Zelnorm that I had. While on Zelnorm, I felt about 50% better with my bloating, pain, gas, and constipation. I went diarrhea two times a day, which was actually a relief to not going to the br at all. However, I never had a solid bowel movement, I felt dizzy and unable to focus, had a headache, and I felt out-of-sorts. I know that the med can cause dizziness and headache, but read nothing about confusions, etc...Has anyone else had a similar reaction. I am taking AD's and meds for asthma and allergies. Thanks for your replies!!!

I took Zelnorm for a few months I did experience a bit of D when I started but I did not experience any of other the side effects you are describing. However, some of the symptoms you describe are known possible as side effects. See Zelnorm for more information.
I think it would be prudent to contact your GP and discuss your experience asap.

Yes, I got the bad headache and all the same symptoms as you. Eventually, I was just constipated plus had all the other symptoms. I may try it again, though. Call me a masochist?

Thank you Jordy and Syl! I called my doc and he said to reduce the Zelnorm from 1 tablet 2 x's/day to 1/2 tablet 1 x/day. I'm kind of leary about getting back on it, though. This is my second day on Heather's diet and I'm going to go and get some peppermint/fennel, etc...tea or capsules tonight and see if they help. Thank you!
