I'm going in for my colonoscopy and endoscopy on Tuesday morning. I have both Monday and Tuesday off since I don't feel like being at work for the prep work...quite embarrassing. I was wondering how people felt the day after and if another had any suggestions of food to eat after. Did anyone focus on going back to the basics, mostly soluble fiber following the procedure? I'm not nervous over the procedure at all but if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know...I;d really appreciate it!
Thanks everyone!

I had one in the spring. I was nervous as heck the day before I felt fine the next day. As I recall it took a day or so to get my system back on track but I don't recall having any discomfort. I do recall that the diet I was on the 2 days before the procedure put me in a discomfort free state. I was a bit surprized

When I got home from my procedure, I slept for five hours due to the anesthesia. I felt okay after I woke up. Next day I was totally back to normal.

You should be fine to eat anything you feel like eating after the procedure. Let your appetite be your guide.

Like Syl, I too noticed that the fasting before the procedure seemed to make my symptoms better.

Hope all goes well!

The prepping is the hardest part for me. The procedure was a pc of cake. I was hungry right after and I ate fried chicken cutlets and salad. No problem. That was 5 years ago, now becuase of IBS-c, it would be a problem. I never had an endoscopy. Good Luck. Im sure it will be fine.

I've had both procedures but at different times. The day before is pretty miserable...but you'll get through...just lock yourself in your room/bathroom with a good read. I was so tired the next day, partly from the anesthesia and partly from being up all night in the bathroom. Plan to sleep/rest the remainder part of that day and eat a bagel or something like that right after the procedure. Then you can see how you feel at dinner time. As far as your bowel movements, I think I didn't go for a few days, as I had been completely cleaned out. But then things got back to normal (or should I say the usual...since IBS is never "normal"?) Good luck to you.

Since I had a polyp removed, I had to stay on a clear diet if I remember right.

The day after was more like being in shock for me.

I was cleaned out tho, no worries about any accidents!

it took my digestive system almost a week to get back to "normal" that is normal for me anyway. Afterwards I drank alot of tea and ate alot of soup because any solid food I tried to eat went right through me. Crackers or bread would be a nice safe SF base for some soup. You could incorporate some IF in the soup. I slowly worked my way up to chicken breast and rice.
