I have used Digestive Advantage for IBS for quite some time with great results. Today I just purchased a new package. There is a new design on the box - which I did not pay attention to. When I got home I had one and noticed a new taste. I read the box and it know says "new sugar and dye free formula". The new sugar is Sucralose - also known as Splenda.... which you can not have on this diet. I sent an e-mail to the company telling them this - will let you know if I hear back. It is too bad.... Regards Anne

I also had good results with Digestive Advantage and stopped because of the new formula. It makes me wonder if the makers of the product really know anything about IBS at all. I now take bentyl for my guts and Xanax for my anxiety and am having excellent results, but I still hate it when companies mess up a good product with triggers.

I rec'd the following info from the makers of Digestive Advantage. I checked on-line and it looks like you can purchase it from Amazon.... it also would be much less expensive than purchasing the 30 day supply at the store.

Thank you for the feedback. We had numerous consumers with IBS and those with diabetes that could not take the original formula due to the sugar that it contained. We therefore switched to a sugar free formula. If you cannot take any artificial sweeteners, you can go to Costco or online where there is a 92 count box that it a caplet form which you may wish to switch to. The old formula is no longer being produced at this time.

Does anyone know exactly what the first 2 ingredients are or is it a made up. Di-Pac and Mannitol. The Lactobacillus is a pro-biotic.

Do a search - this product has been talked about many many times before.

Some people find it helpful while others (myself included) find it does not do anything.

The only active ingredient is Lactobacillus.

Lysine is an essential amino acid derived from protein. You get lots of it in your normal diet. The company claims the lysine helps the Lactobacillus grow. I doubt that the amount they put in the product helps very much and it is likely digested in the stomach.

The rest is primarily filler used to make them chewable and tasty.

A generic brand of Lactobacillus is likely just a good and cheaper.
