Can swallowing a lot of blood cause nausea & vomiting?

And no, I'm not some sicko! :-) I have some dental problems, and I'm pretty sure one of my teeth (gums?) bleeds a lot. Can that be what's causing my occasional nausea & vomiting? I'm terrified of dentists so I've been putting off going, but I think I'm going to have to go. It's getting worse.
