Hi! I was wondering if anyone has tried weight watchers while dealing with IBS. I have gained weight, and would like to lose some of it. I hear people have lost it from IBS, but I don't have a severe case of it unless I eat something I shouldn't.
I have read on here people saying that pasta, rice and potatoes do not make you gain weight, but I gained weight since I mostly eat those foods.
Thanks, Karen

Do a search on Weight Watchers with no limits. There have been a few discussion about it. You might also try the Fitness board. I know it's come up there, too.
I personally like Weight Watchers, but not everyone is a fan. It CAN be done with IBS.

Huh. Try a seach a from all dates with "Weight Watchers." You should get a whole string of things.
You do have to tweak WW a bit with IBS, but I didn't find it that difficult, really. Obviously, in place of dairy, use soy (or rice) milk. Just make sure it's fortified so that you are still getting your calcium.
Us IBSers can't use the WW sweets because of the artificial sugars, and if you use their Smart Ones frozen meals, read the ingredients, but heck, we're used to doing that anyway, right? I do well with the turkey medallions and green beans meal. It's been safe for me and it's only 4 points.
As for the fruits and veggies, that's easy enough to tailor around whatever your tolerances are.
I know more about the Points plan than Core, but feel free to ask me questions.
