I'm barely good at chopping a tomato let alone knowing how to seed one. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I've never done it before either, but Rachael Ray just cuts them in half & squeezes out the insides, leaving the main part intact (I'm sure she makes it look easier than it really is!) I've also heard of using a grapefruit spoon & going around the edges & scooping it all out. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Great, thank you littlelani, that was helpful, I'll try the method of squeezing the tomato since I don't have a grapefruit spoon.

is cut out the stem part and squeeze the tomato upside down over the garbage can, then pull off any hanging seed chunks. It makes it easier to chop and much less watery.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

To seed a tomato, (and also peel and dice) is to concasse. You place tomatoes into boiling water for 10-15 seconds then place them into ice water immediately. Then you can peel the skin. After peeling you slice the tomatoes into slices and taking a knife start on one side and start cutting where the seed and intact part connect. After starting the cut hold onto the section you removed the seeds from and simply slid the knife through. This is the traditional French way to peel, seed and dice a tomato, and after a few tries it really is very easy!!! Hope this helps!!!
