I had a c-section about 19 months ago. I used to have IBS-D and went at least 5 times a day. After my c-section, I had complications, I wasn't able to pass, some of my bowel was kinked. It did resolve itself after medications....
Now i find I am not going regularly and sometimes not for a few days. I get in so much pain, and oddly, I cannot "make love to my husband. Because I get in so much pain.....
I hadn't gone in a few days but my stomach has increased in size and I haven't gained weight...(I'm not pregnant) but even after a few days of not going, then I almost "explode"

I am not sure what really going on inside my gut, but I know the pain and constipation has gotten worse overtime so I am kind of relating the pain to my bowels..
I am happy that I am at least going, but its causing a lot of pain. Now instead of avoiding things, I'm trying to do things to get me going....
Are stool softners ok?
Can these new symtpoms be a result from the complications of the c-section? I am going to my doctor on Wednesday and requesting another referral to a gasto.

Hey! Another Ontarian! Welcome! Yes, definitely go to the Doc and INSIST on a referral. That is definitely not good. I've had 2 c-sections (yes, lucky me!), and although I didn't have the problems you did, they resolved themselves pretty quickly. Time to get to the bottom of this.
In the meantime, reexamine your diet. Make sure you're following Heather's guidelines and are getting adequate amounts of both soluble and insoluble fibre.
