I almost bought some Athenos hummus; the fat was fine and it seemed safe. I checked the ingredients one more time and it contained HFCS. In hummus?! So I think I'll make my own for a light lunch.

I mean, they're messing with some of MY ethnic food when they start pulling that crap... there should be NOTHING sweet in hummus! Argh!

Definitely all the more reason to make your own... it tastes better anyway.

They DO hide that stuff everywhere!!! I'm contantly skimming food labels for HFCS, because of it. They even have it in hamburger rolls! They're not even sweet! Aaarrrgggg!

It's so easy. I posted a good recipe a while back (search "authentic hummus" on the recipe board). Some stores carry a brand called Cedars. The lemon variety is the closest I've had to homemade, and no funky ingredients. Give it a shot.

Quite right. Sugar isn't called for in hummus! And it just goes to show there is some addictive tendency to HFCS that makes companies put it in their products. Maybe Dr. Evil is running the HFCS market!
There is some premade hummus in Natural Foods that does not contain HFCS. I did make my own but thought it would be an easy, emergency snack/lunch to buy it. I did not check black olive even though it was there because I didn't want that variety.
