I've found that just modifying my diet and doing nothing else does not make my C go away. Eating Heather's diet helps loads - no more week-long D attacks - but it's not sufficient (as her books point out).

I need to exercise regularly, and more than just walking. I need to do hypno or yoga or some sort of directed relaxation regularly. Yoga twists also help loads, even if I'm just doing them while seated at my desk. Heat helps get things moving, whether it's just hot weather or sitting in the steam room, or just lying around with a heating pad (or cat) on my belly. And making sure that I'm always sipping on something really prevents bloating for me.

So it's not just food. You have to do a lot of things, but they're all really good for you to do even outside of keeping your colon in line. All I do with food is avoid the real triggers 95% of the time (with the occasional slip for some really good cheese or buttered toast), take enough acacia so I'm not cramping up, and have some IF (preferably fruits & veggies) with every meal. Everything else deals with managing stress and not being too sedentary.
