There are so many celebs with "reality" shows, I think it would be kind of interesting to see a celebrity IBS spokesperson go about their daily routine on VH1.

that is a great concept!!! unfortunately, celebrities and rich people can afford to have someone cook for them...if i could do that, i'd be golden!!!!

Hah. I'm actually supposed to start a modeling career later this year. I'm definately not saying I'll be famous or anything but ...it's going to be quite a challenge, since I have the bloating and everything. Sometimes I wonder if I should even go through with it.
I don't know of any celebrities with ibs, but I really think they're should be more awareness. We could get more research, and maybe some help.

I think Cybil Sherphard had it. Also, Linda Carter's mother has it.

Kelsey Grammar's wife has it too. I actually wrote an email to Cybil Sheperd on her fan website asking how she deals (I read somewhere that she is a big fan of Zelnorm) - alas, she never responded. But whenever I watch a reality show, I can' help but think to myself, I guess these people don't have IBS. I mean, can you imagine a reality show with 10 IBS-ers living in the same house, cooking up our funny diets and spending hours in the bathroom and vegging on the couch with our heating pads and walking around looking insanely bloated? That would be too hilarious.

I also heard many, many years ago that Cher had it. Back then it was called colitis (that covered many bowel disorders). They said she had to spend lots of time in the pottie before her shows.

was eating all kinds of cheese on a train with Kevin Kline and she said she hadn't had cheese in years. A few minutes later you see her get this look on her face and screams" Lactose intolerant" and rushes to the bathroom. Later she says that all her stress ends up in her stomach so maybe she had IBS in the movie! It was funny though, seeing that all to knowing look after you ate something you shouldn't of!

Thanks for that link. I'm a huge fan of Denise as I love athletics. I remember that commentators saying she was ill or struggling with her health but had no idea that I had it until recently, let alone Denise.

I wish someone would open a restaurant for IBS sufferers. I'd spend more time there than in my own home.

Wow! I never knew about Tyra having it. I watch Top Model all the time, but never get a chance to catch her talk show. Has she discussed it on there?

The only thing that irks me about Kelsey Grammar's wife,Camille, is that she used IBS as an excuse to hire a surrogant mom to carry a pregnancy and give birth so she wouldn't have too. I have IBS-D and have two healthy kids,i just don't understand her saying the doctor's advised her she couldn't carry a pregnancy to term??!!! No doctor ever told me that!

My mother swears that the late country singer Tammy Wynette must have had Ulcerative Colitus or Crohn's disease, she had alot of stomach pain complaints and it was always kept secret what her exact health problems were, even after her death. She had been rushed to hospitals right after stage performances from the pain, something was up with her?!

I could be wrong, but I heard Tyra had IBS and I thought that she was one of those people that just say they have IBS like (Oh, I have that too). You know one of those people but they don't really have it or know enough about it.
But, I could be wrong. You never know, maybe she does have it.

I do.
I find it so hard watching people go about their normal activities without problems. I don't even know what it is like to live like that.
I would love to actually see people just like me and how they handle it. Talking to people over the Internet is one thing, but actually seeing them in their daily life with the same problems would be therapeutic.
I find "normal" people on reality shows depressing to watch. Because I cannot comprehend even doing the things they do or being able to live a carefree life the way they do. I do not understand how "normal" people are able to go about their lives without even thinking about it, because I never had that.
