I was wondering what most of you have tried or are using for their cereals. I mean what type/brand/flavor of soy milk? Thank you.

Tony

Silk or 8th Continent seems to be what folks use. If you do a search, you will find a plethora of posts on soy milk.

I use 8th Continent Lite Original flavor. It also comes in vanilla and chocolate. The non-lite versions come in the same flavors but have a little more fat.

Goodsense isn't bad either, if you can find it, but I like 8th Continent a little better for most things.

I prefer Silk light Vanilla. I use this when I make oatmeal and also when I have cereal. They make great yogurt too.

I just recently started using Westsoy Lowfat Plain soymilk. It's much tastier than anything else I've ever tried. I acutally drank the milk left in the bottom of the cereal bowl! That's a first since I began the diet. My husband who is not on ibs diet even thinks it's a good milk substitute.

I'm wondering what the best tasting thing is. I tried soy milk a while back and while I have a VERY adventursome palette, I just couldn't hack the soy milk. Do any of the replacement milks have a less obtrusive taste?

The closest thing I've found to dairy milk is the plain Silk. I'm not a fan of soymilk either but this one I think tastes pretty good and I can drink it straight no prob.

And just for drinking soy milk, Silk chocolate is yummmmmmmmmmmy! It's what they use at Starbucks, that's how I stumbled upon it.

Cheers!

It's my new favorite. It's not as 'heavy' as Silk Vanilla and the sweetness is just right (for me). I tried some of the Lite, Lowfat, Nonfat varieties, but I think I'm just going to stick with this one for now. I found it in the organics/soy section at a local Vons (YAY Vons!). It comes in the aseptic bricks as well as lunch box 8 oz size which is perfect to stash with my whole grain cereal for a filling, yummy breakfast on the go!

My husband and I did a "taste test" of a few soy milks the other day. He isn't on the diet, but he thought the westsoy lite plain soymilk was the best and I agreed. I can't taste the soy in it. This is very close to regular milk. I made some hot cocoa with it last night and it was soooo good!
