I gotta give a shoutout to a restaurant I went to yesterday: Mitchell's Fish Market. The Locations link on that site will tell you where the various ones are - I went to the one in Glenview, IL.

This is definitely a splurgy restaurant, but it's a great choice if you want to go to a fancy place that will make your body happy. I went for the halibut Shanghai style, which means that they give you sticky rice and steamed spinach, and steam the fish with ponzu sauce and ginger (they even have the recipe on their web site). So yummy and so IBS-friendly! And the complementary bread was excellent (and I'm a real bread snob/fan).

I went there with my husband (who has diabetes and eats low-carb) and a visiting friend (who has allergies to beans and nuts), and they accommodated all of us with a smile.

So if you want a great restaurant meal that you don't have to worry about, Mitchell's will do the trick!

AC, It sounds like a good place for our next *Chicago* get
together. Is it near the Grove? I know how to get there. -Bob

Hi Bob, it's only about a mile or two from The Grove - you go north up Milwaukee to Lake, and then take a right. A couple of stoplights down is Patriot Blvd (where the airbase used to be), and Mitchell's is just off that.

It might be good for a weekend lunch, particularly if people don't want to have a $25 dinner entree!

Mitchell restaurants are always good. I think most of them are out of Columbus Ohio, but here is a link that will tell you were other locations are for the Mitchell's Fish Market, if others are interested but don't live near Chicago.

Hi Amie, I had left a post for you in the zoup thread but I
don't think you saw it. Right now, we're planning a picnic
outing with pot luck barbeque on June 9 at Indiana Dunes State
Park if you can make it. If June 9 isn't good for you, let us
know what's better. -Bob

my daughters wedding is Sunday June 10th.. so I'll be a BIT BUSY that weekend... and we'll be in CA for a big chunk of July but I'd love to meet you all and its only a 4 hour drive, so as long as I plan to spend a night its not a bad trip to meet new friends and see chi-town for the night..
