My ex boyfriend is an ayruvedic practitioner, and he was always telling me about triphala, and that it is a miricale for regulating bowel movements. He said to buy the powder form from a health food store, and that you just have to experiement with the dossage. That you take it at night before you go to bed, and it takes a little while to regulate you... and it also takes awhile to figure out how much is good for each individual to take. I tried it a few times and it tasted TERRIBLE! But it's always in the back of my mind as something to try, as my BMs are never regular, I am DEFINATLY an A these days!

I just bought some and was about to do a search on the internet for dosage recommendations. I did three days on the dosage recommended on the bottle (I could only find pill form). It said to take three/day with food or water. It had 500 mg of each of the three herbs that's in triphala.

I did two days of the three pills, and upped it to five yesterday. I had a very nice BM this morning.

Really, I tried that awhile ago and it did nothing. Now I've been taking Xiafian for bacteria in the small intestine and it is really helping.

I have a doctor's appointment this thursday and I'm going to be asked to be checked for small intestine bacterial overgrowth.
