soluble fiber supplement AND probiotic

I've read that you are supposed to take your soluble fiber supplement 30mins before meals. The probiotics that I'm taking are also supposed to be taken 30 mins before meals, but you are not supposed to take other meds within two hours of taking a soluble fiber supplement. So what do I do? Does soluble fiber supplement affect the probiotic or is that warning mostly for medications?
Right now I usually take my soluble fiber supplement a few hours before bed and first thing in the morning if I need it. Should I be doing this differently?
Thanks

Maybe I'm missing something important but I can't find the information on this site. I have been taking Acacia since last May in the morning with my daily meds and also at night with my night meds. I'll be watching to see how some others are taking their's. Sorry I can't help you with your question and need to see if I'm taking mine wrong. But it is working for me so far.

I think it's okay to take both at the same time. An SFS is a prebiotic, which is what probiotics "eat," so you'd want to take both to maintain good gastrointestinal flora.
Heather talks about it here: http://www.helpforibs.com/supplements/

An SFS is not medicine. However, SFS can interfere with certain medications, like amitriptyline, by interfering with the absorption of the drug in the stomach. The info sheet you get with prescriptions should tell you whether or not you can take it with a high fiber meal OR you could ask a pharmacist.
