Okay, seasoned IBS cooks? How about it? I'm thinking no since they contain chocolate chunks...but it says "may contain traces of milk". But would the chocolate chunks with the chocolate liquior and the cocoa butter be okay?

Pamela's brownies

I found this listed in an old post...but after buying it, I'm having reservations. I can make it with applesauce which makes it low fat...just worried about the ingredients.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I don't see anything triggering in the ingredients... and I would personally not worry about the "possible traces of milk proteins" - that's a pretty slim chance of a very tiny amount of dairy, not enough to cause a problem. Make them low-fat, and they should be fine.

What about the chocolate liquior and the cocoa butter? The chocolate chunks is what scares me. Chocolate is on the trigger list.

Thanks you two!

If you check out the calories from fat, that's a low percentage so even tho it's a bit of solid chocolate (high fat) the overall brownies are low fat.

Yes!Yes! They seem to be safe!! I am a sweets phene, and I had just been diagnosed with IBS last week, although in times of stress it seems to kick up in me. I had really wanted something sweet and cakey, and was super leary about having these, but I figured I didn't have to work the next day and I would give it a shot......I ate a very decent amount, and NO CRAMPING< BLOATING, D or C although I altered the recipe a tad....I made the oil free recipe and changed the one egg in the recipe to two egg whites.
